Beschrijving:

In 2001 is aan de Schans, naast het gemeentehuis het kunstwerk "Het Gesprek" van Pieter Kortekaas geplaatst. De beelden zijn ruim twee meter lang en staan in een kring met de gezichten naar elkaar toe. Vier langgerekte geabstraheerde figuren die in zijn gegoten. Geen mannen, geen vrouwen, maar mensen, lijken met elkaar in gesprek verwikkeld. De beeldengroep is in 2000 door het college van burgemeester en wethouders aangekocht voor ongeveer € 90.750. Over de aanschaf is bij verschillende politieke partijen nogal wat beroering ontstaan.

Dit kunstwerk symboliseert de Gemeente Dronten na 30 jaar. "Dronten", zegt het gemeentebestuur, "is de ontmoeting van ruimte en dynamiek, de ontmoeting van stedelijke voorzieningen en een dorps karakter. Dronten is ook ontmoeten, even niet moeten, tijd voor jezelf en de ander.

Vanwege de bouw van Winkelcentrum Suydersee is het kunstwerk in 2006 op de Kop van 't Ruim aan de voet van de Ludgerustoren geplaatst.
